For years, Rajasthan sat at the top of our travel bucket list. We imagined wandering through ancient forts, watching sunsets over rolling sand dunes, spotting Bengal tigers in the wild, and experiencing centuries of Rajput history firsthand. When we finally arrived, it exceeded every expectation.

An Easy Escape from Mumbai
One of the best things about exploring Rajasthan is just how accessible it is.
Our journey began before sunrise at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai. Within less than two hours, we traded skyscrapers for sandstone as our flight landed in Jaisalmer, the gateway to the Thar Desert.
Whether you’re planning a long vacation or simply a week-long getaway, Rajasthan is one of the easiest destinations to reach from Mumbai. Daily flights connect Mumbai with Jaisalmer, Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Udaipur, making it simple to begin your adventure wherever your itinerary takes you.
Even before takeoff, the journey felt special.
Mumbai’s airport is an attraction in itself. Towering columns inspired by the peacock rise into a breathtaking honeycomb ceiling, while intricate jali patterns and colorful glass artwork celebrate India’s architectural heritage.
It was the perfect introduction to a trip filled with history, culture, and unforgettable landscapes.

Jaisalmer
The Golden City
Located in the heart of the Thar Desert.
Jaisalmer glows almost magically beneath the desert sun. Its honey-colored sandstone buildings blend seamlessly into the surrounding landscape, giving the city its famous nickname—The Golden City.
We wandered through the living Jaisalmer Fort, admired the intricate carvings of Patwon Ki Haveli, watched the sunset illuminate the royal cenotaphs at Bada Bagh, explored Gadisar Lake at sunrise, and spent an unforgettable evening riding camels and watching the stars from the Sam Sand Dunes.

Jodhpur
The Blue City
Towering above a sea of blue-painted homes sits the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort—one of India’s most impressive forts.
Jodhpur perfectly blends royal history with everyday life. Bustling markets, colorful streets, hidden cafés, and breathtaking viewpoints make it a photographer’s dream.
The contrast between the blue city below and the massive sandstone fort above creates one of Rajasthan’s most iconic landscapes.

After the desert comes Rajasthan’s most romantic city.
Surrounded by shimmering lakes and rolling Aravalli Hills, Udaipur feels elegant, peaceful, and timeless.
Watching the City Palace reflect over Lake Pichola at sunset, taking a boat ride across the water, and strolling through the old city’s narrow streets quickly made Udaipur one of our favorite stops.

Ranthambore
Into Tiger Country
Rajasthan isn’t only about forts and palaces.
Ranthambore National Park offers one of the best opportunities in the world to see wild Bengal tigers roaming freely through ancient ruins and dense forests.
